INTERBIKE 2012 RR
Day one indoors. I saw stuff....I did things. Here's some random shots of craps that caught my eye. Sorry for lack of details. But I'm kinda worn from walking, and I took a couple vicodin thinking they were ibuprofen.

Fuck pills!! All about the Ganga. Took two rips of Herijuana and you feel fucked up. Heavy Shit. LOL.
You gonna be around tomorrow or did you take off?
Today was cool got to do an Interview with Chad Kagy for TheDirtyWheel....

I'm home now. We managed to get the whole place walked in a day. Didn't quite have the motivation to go back. But there was a LOT to see. Cool event if you're into bikes for sure. And now that I'm home....if fixed that first vid link!
Does that fat tire bike have rear suspension?
That Trek slope bike is tits !!
So jealous!!

I dig it....Dave says he wants to make a special GP version if I get enough commitments from pirates. How bad ass would that be.
Uh oh....let the cat out of the bag early. No pricing yet. We're gonna talk in the next couple weeks.
My take on interbike....small, boring with nothing we haven't already seen.(kind of like what your gf/ wife says about you)
The Outdoor was hot with long waits to get a bike and then another long wait to get a shuttle. 5 times as many rodaies as anyone else....followed by single speed posers.
The indoor was a mix of lycra, mustached tight black jeans and bros...all talking about their "sick" fixie, bmx, 650b or carbon DH bikes...and why they are better than the identical bike in the booth right next to them.
Ohhhh!!! the best part was the Costco like atmosphere with all the free energy/ supplement food/ drink samples...it's all glorified candy...disguised to make even the stupidest...I mean "healthiest" of spandexers feel smug about eating this junk.
Don't waste your time with this event....go ride instead...all of this copy cat crap is already on the market and the show is filled with people who like to talk about bikes or bike stuff rather than actually ride...you know these bike geeks.... the people who would rather work on their bike or talk about bikes instead of ride.....yup the opinionated ones that can hardly ride on a bike path....let alone ride down a dirt hill. You wanna see interbike...go to the Performance Bike shop or any Sports Chalet bike section.

Why am I not surprised JD MF Grimes. There's a lot of truth there though. Interbike is for networking IMO. My only lasting memories are finally meeting some guys that I've only talked to over phone. And making new friends out of reps that might be useful for GP. Cool new bike stuff is few and far between. If that's your main purpose for coming, you'll be disappointed. And yes...the outdoor thing was a bummer compared to Outerbike. More there....but less that matter.

Ahhhh, Sounds like somebody needs a Shuttle Buddy. LOL
Jd's a sad panda. Someone please ring a bell and give him a cookie. I was there. Still don't remember a bike show though.

Please keep me informed on this I have so guys that are going to be buying frames around the end of the year.
My report. I had fun. Outerbike was definitely the better part of it. Yeah, day two had long lines waiting for certain bikes, but I would just find something available now to ride. Got to try some bikes I might not otherwise consider. That was fun. Met some cool people and mostly had fun with some friends. Shuttles didn't take that long if you timed it right.
I did a turn around trip Friday for innerbike. My friend told me about all the cool shwag they pass out and the cool deals on inventory that mfgs don't want to take back. Mostly that didn't happen. Was innerbike worth the one day trip? No. Is it worth hanging around an extra day after the out door demo. Yeah. Well I go again? If given the opportunity, yeah.
It is what you make of it.

I flew in on Monday afternoon, hung out with my friend for some lunch at P.F. Changs.....then hooked up with CalledtoCreation and MyBikeStand for some dinner at Yolo's at Planet Hollywood....went out to Outdoor Demo on Tuesday and had no problem getting a bike from KHS....didn't even have to give my ID or anything to take it out.....hell, I even borrowed their beach cruiser to go back to the truck for a bit....
Wed. & Thurs. were both long days and productive....got to meet up with old friends, made some new friends and worked on some deals for the next year or so....All in all.....a good, productive time at the show....although to be honest, I'll probably skip the outdoor day next time....maybe just fly in on Wed. and hit up the last 2 days of the show and spend the rest of the weekend in Vegas with friends who live there......
