GP Park DIG/RIDE 5/3/14
Back at it! Excavator doing the big work. Need men to shape and tamp! Come on out and lend a hand to the park being built in your name. Bring your bike and do some riding. Tools are on site. Hang out with a group of friends and work on a section.
MORE INFO HERE!
When:
May 3rd. 9am- 5pm.
Where:
Gravity Pirate Park at Mt Waterman. Copy and paste 34.347472, -117.928127 into Google Maps. Post up if you have room for guys to jump in with you and split gas!
What:
Dig/Ride to help build Gravity Pirate Park. Park at the bottom of the lift and walk up. Or drive up the dirt access road ¼ mi SE of the lift. We will leave the gate “faux locked” so you can drive up.
Bring:
Tools are on site. You’ll want a camelbak with water and snacks. It’s easier to take a lunch break on the trail than walk all the way back up just to eat...but that's just a personal opinion. An outside grill is at your disposal. A hat/sunscreen is always a good idea. Those straw hats you see landscapers wearing may look funny…but are ideal for trail working! Hiking shoes, and other hiking capable clothing are a big plus. Gloves are a win! I don’t recommend bike riding gloves unless you have some throw aways since granite eats gloves. Gotta check out the hard work with your bike, right? Bring that bike! Hook up with the other diggers and do some shuttling!! And bring yourself some awesome food to throw on the grill for after trail work!
Can’t, but want to contribute?:
If you can’t make it, but want to thank all the diggers for their hard work, please contribute HERE!
Other important info:
There are no stores nearby…what you bring is what you will have! Cell phone reception is almost non-existent. Do NOT rely on your phone to find the location, or try to call us. Bring a paper map, and be self reliant. Look things up on Google maps ahead of time and memorize. Remember life before cell phones? Better yet, carpool up with a pirate who knows the park! Feel free to contact me with any questions/comments, Steve Ford dh43dh@gmail.com.

I'll be there with my bro bright and early. Probably no bikes. Going in a sports car so no room.
Anyone coming from LA? Ill chip in for fuel if there's a carpool down.... If not I'll kick in some cash to help out!

Paypal always works. Only thing I like about go fund me is that everyone can see money in, money out. I like public accountability when it comes to donations.
Big thanks to Goose, his brother, and Von. They spent an exhausting day wrestling a heavy gas tamper. And to Tim for chipping into the dig fund. It's 2 30am right now...I'm working through the night to finish my money making work done...so I can guide the excavator in a few hours. Onward and downward!
No problem Cap'n. I wish we could have kept up with the excavator but not enough man power. Good meeting you too VON. We wouldn't of got so much done with out your help.
Here's what you boys missed. Im beat.

Holy crap! You guys are awesome! Thanks for bustin your ass for gp even tho the rest of us weenies couldnt make it to help out.
I feel bad. I've been up there all these times, effectively doing nothing. Now we can actually get some work done a day I can't make it.
I really wanted to go up today also. I need to fix my truck and I'll be up all the time.
That thing was heavy. Good meeting u and ur brother Goose! Im sure you would've managed.. I think we need more rope for that gas tamper. Maybe not rope but I dont know what its called. That thing Ivan was pulling on.
That thing is heavy as fuck.
That thing is heavy as fuck.
Kool vOn . We got the hang of it after a while. Lol. Feel free to hit me up dude . I'm open to dig weekends if there's a ride up .
