Mammoth Improvements for 2011
Plagiarized from STR
Huge improvements have been added to the bike park in recent years. Sounds like Mammoth is stepping up their game for even bigger for improvements this season. I can't wait for the new IRRIGATED trails. I'm stoked on Trail Home being turned into a Livewire clone. It's just a shame everything is covered by 10+ feet of snow.

Wondering what's going on with the Bike Park for Summer 2011? Here's an update!
Lower mountain trails are scheduled to open June 24, 2011 and we will update what trails will open closer to that date.
Here are some changes visitors will find throughout the park this season:
-Enhancements added this season will represent a 10-fold increase in capital spending in Bike Park from previous seasons.
-Significant improvements to multiple existing trails including the addition of
freeride-specific features and five new jump runs.
-Three new trails will feature irrigation from Mammoth’s extensive snowmaking system.
Last season, sprinklers were added to a new jump run built on Lower
Twilight Zone to keep the dirt moist and tacky. Due to the great
response the irrigation received, the bike park trail crew decided to
add irrigation to this season’s new jump trails.
-A new jump run which will feed off of Velocity and run back down to Main Lodge along
the ski run “Jill’s Run” will feature up to two dozen jumps and features in a row.
-Kamikaze Park will feed off of lower Kamikaze, running down the ski run Sesame Street and will feature jumps and
freeride-specific features.
-Upper Twilight Zone will be constructed connecting Velocity to Lower Twilight Zone.
-Pipeline will get an extension and remodel connecting it with Shotgun and Paper
Route X-Zone. New features will include launch ramps constructed from
wood and metal, a boardwalk and a wood wallride.
-Trail Home will receive a major facelift resulting in 1.5+ miles of jumps, berms and freeride-specific features leading from McCoy Station down to Main Lodge.
-The Bike Lab: A new skill development center at McCoy Station featuring beginner and intermediate level features so riders can build confidence before tackling larger park features.
-Installation of 120 Tons of new Paver Bricks allowing Mammoth to create a variety of
new features that enhance the riding experience, prevent erosion and improve the flow and rideability of trails.
-Two new over/under bridges added to high-traffic trail intersections along Paper Route to improve safety while keeping the trail fun and fast.
-Trail enhancements to Uptown and Downtown trails to improve visibility and enhance flow.
-A new fleet rental and demo bikes from Rocky Mountain Bicycles. Models available will include Rocky Mountain Element and Flatline.
All
bike park season passes and quad pack tickets are on sale until June
24, 2011. For more information on Mammoth Mountain Bike Park, visit http://www.MammothMountain.com.

WooHoo!!! can't wait. season pass is ready to go. I'm starting a new chant: melt, melt, melt, melt.....
Can't they just sprinkle salt all over the trails to make the snow go away??? (LOL...just kidding).

dammmmmnnnnnnn...if that happens in this season, I'll be super stoked. still unsure of the length of the season being worthwhile.
Hows that snow melt coming along Brian?

Re: Mammoth Improvements for 2011
glad they are working to improve, sounds like what n* did last few years ago and what trestle is working...I used to think mammoth, n* was the *hit until I went to Whistler, then you're screwed because you compare every trail to dirt merchant and it ruins u...don't go to whister (cause I'll be there)

Re: Mammoth Improvements for 2011
Nothing's going to compare to Whistler. I think what Mammoth is trying to do is steal some market share from N*. Especially with all the jumps/berms they are building.

Re: Mammoth Improvements for 2011
agree...going to check out Trestle at the end of the month and they've had gravity logic on board for the last few years, so we'll see how that looks
