MAMMOTH Aug.6-7 RR

Hit Mammoth this weekend with some buddies, my first time there. Rode Kamikaze, Velocity, Shock Treatment, Twilight Zone, Downtown, Shotgun, Jill's Run, sections of Techno Drop. Decided to focus more on trails dropping from McCoy to get more runs in.

Ran into mtbgurl at the start of Lower Shock Treatment, she approached me because of my GP FR jersey MAMMOTH Aug.6-7 RR 641198

She also said BMex was somewhere in the area but I didn't get to see him.

Had a lot of fun and I'm itching to go back..... that drop to the big wooden ramp is haunting me Shocked

Also want to check out the Flow Drop (didn't have enough time to, this weekend)

Some trails end down at the village. that trailer shuttles riders back to the gondola

Hey Isreal, the trailer is part of the shuttle that takes you back up to the lift if you come out on the trails that drop you off by the canyon lift. You have to have a lift ticket to get on or sneek on when you can!

Haha... yeah I saw you guys at the Yodler area when I had lunch with a few friends. I forgot his name, but he came over to talk about his knolly since he saw my podium. Sorry I didn't get a chance to visit more, I was getting a tour and had to keep up.

Brian works in the pro shop (under the gondola) so make sure you stop in and say Hi. He bled my brakes for me while I waited and was able to get back on the hill in 15 mins. Thanks for the speedy service.

I'll be up again in 3 weeks, give me a shout if you'll be up. I'll be looking for a DH buddy since the guys I'm going up with will be doing the trail bike stuff. That kitty litter is pretty challenging to ride on. I want hope to get better at riding it next time.

Qwan, so it was you Roland was talking to by that burrito truck (which was awful, BTW, yuck! Don't eat that shit)

My buddy lost one of those little wheels for his RD, the shop fixed it within 10mins and only charged $10 installed!

Nice vid and riding out there Perf! Looks like you had a few close calls on the drops on techno rock. A little more speed would have made the landings more fluid. Maybe it's a good thing Mammoth has built up bigger transitions. Much more painful in the past...

Yeah, was riding somewhat conservative, still nursing a painful hip from a crash 3 wks ago. Will definitely go bigger next time MAMMOTH Aug.6-7 RR 572137

Oh yeah, he was there, saw him near Yodler's and later on at the lifts. We didn't get to ride together, though, different group rotations

my go-pro FAIL ! my gopro didnt record anything on our 2nd day when we did most of the advance trails.. other than it was a good weekend.. i thought i saw qwan taking pictures by the burrito cart while i was chatting with perf.. those podiums are SICK !

That step-up did me in. Crashed hard on the transition (went to the side and hit the kitty litter). Separated my collarbone from my sternum, but at least I cleared it first!

I'm now out for about 6 wks. Serious bummer. Crying or Very sad
