thats 52 lift accesed bike parks in the space of california. Granted, im sure they are not wordclass, but still, its lift assisted up and then all downhill. Thats so sad considering all the potential in CA.
To get a little serious, People in Sweden dont sue each other, period. You think that could have something to do with it?

It's a strange thing really but generally Europeans tend to take more accountability for their actions, and it's only strange from the view point of living in the states most of my life. But it's a totally different world when I go back home to England and see my family. Much more support for any and all sports especially of the motor variety. But you have access to much more in terms of tracks or in this case bike parks. Although it could be California.... As it seems Colorado and other states have much more support for our sport.

I wonder if the litigation aspect is as important as we all seem to think.
The litigation doesn't seem to prevent all of the snowboard lifts from operating.

Americans just don't embrace cycling like the euros. Look at moto tracks in the us compared to euro land. Mericans like motorsports.

You'll find much more motorsports related things in europe as well. There are crazy amounts of motocross tracks or riding areas. The problem is americans just are a miserable race, and hate to have any fun. That why the majority of them just sit on their fat asses wasting away in front of the tv.

Re: Bike parks per capita
The only reason I got into mountain bike a few years back was because we don't have a mx track close by. Turned out I really enough riding the bike. If I was in SoCal I'd probably would have been a moto brat.

I'd say that's about right.
Also, the US has crazy aggressive environmentalists whom oppose much land use.
