Snowshoe 2012

Opening weekend - 05/27/2012
Drove up to my Buddy's house to chill on Sat night only to find a bunch of hung-over bikers & several broken bikes.
Went to go ride on Sunday, busted a spoke & broke my rear derailleur. Trails are pretty decent. The Western Territory has some long runs, jumps lines, race courses etc. The Basin side has shorter runs & more slow speed tech features.
Had some lunch & then they closed the park due to a thunderstorm. We poached a few trails & headed home to fix bikes for the next trip. Glad I got a season pass...

I wish I knew you were going to be there was some GP east guys there this weekend also. Later in the summer all the GP east guys will have to meet there for our booth bash.
I only have 2 more weeks till I will be riding agian we will work out some riding after that.

I'll be there pretty regular... We park at the top to the Western lift. You going to the race in 2 weeks?
Also note: new (triple) bike trays have been installed every third lift & the shuttles no longer operate. Ruff 'n' Tumble has been shut down, although we rode it on Sunday without any problems.

Epic weekend at Snowshoe with the Mid-Atlantic crew. The mountain was unusually dry, dusty & in the mid '80s. We rode the longer, more flowy Western Territory runs until our hands hurt & then hit up the Basin side for the shorter, more technical runs in the woods.

Sat 21st:
Conditions, slippery & wet, drying up towards the end of the day. Tires had trouble shedding the sticky mud & getting traction but overall, very fun riding conditions. Rear wheel getting wild on the slippery roots definatly a highlight of the day. Western list stayed open until 6PM, so we got 7-8 hrs of riding in!
Sun 22nd:
Coditions, tacky perfection on the Western side & still pretty wet on the Bason side. Epic riding!
