With all the hoopla over the Super D, I think everyone should check it out and consider racing it this weekend!!!

Re: Southridge Winter Series Race #5 (Finals)
Ran the SD #4, was my first SD, not alot of up hill was a fun course. was riding my all mtn bike went over the bars and broke my brake leveler. Picked up my 44# Glory freeride bike and still took 3rd. They talked about having the same course as #3. will not be there Sat but will be for Sunday DH.

Here's what Joe posted on STR:

Bungle! Don’t let other Super D events sway you. Come out and see for yourself the courses I am putting together in Fontana. I do my best to keep it mostly downhill, but nothing over the top. I try and keep as much variety as possible and I am not a fan of getting off your bike in the middle of a Super D event. Just come out and check it out and if you think anything about my course is not good (assuming there is a better alternative available) please let me know! I want to create events that everyone feels comfortable riding and an event that everyone has fun at. If the events grow enough to where we can justify laying out a more advanced course and an easier course I would love to do that. I love the concept of Super D and I think many others will too once they try it. But the Super D event is critical. Not all Super D events are credible Super D courses. Hopefully I can set a standard other event promoters will follow. So far the response of the riders doing my courses has been all very positive. Hope to see you out there. Next race is this Saturday. Practice at 11 and race at 12:30. Be signed up and on your bike no later than 11:00 so you can get a couple pre runs in.
BTW to confirm, the video was shot a few weeks ago on pieces of the course we used two races ago. Many of these sections will be used this Saturday. The FOntana trails are open anytime so you can ride teh trails we use for the race whenever you want.
Right now I only hold my clinics at Aliso Woods, but plan to offer some Santiago clinics sometime this year. The Santiago clinics will probably geared a little more towards intermediates rather than beginners.

Re: Southridge Winter Series Race #5 (Finals)
Joe keeps hitting me up to do this, but with 4X on Sat. so close to the Super D, it's kind of difficult to do both (plus, I hate pushing my bike uphill....I'm built more for DH!), but I want to try one sometime, maybe I'll hit it up some weekday and check out the course before I commit to a race! But it sure looks fun, quite a few of my friends have raced SD a few times and they all say it's a blast.

Practiced this morning. Willy said it's the same course as the night race.
Split in the middle but no longer joins up, different exits for Pro/Exp and Sport/Beg. Pro course looks really rocky but I didn't ride it.
Beginner course has some short gnar sections. One really squared off left hand turn towards the bottom.
Lower rock garden is the same as the last race.

Looking from the bottom up in the third photos there are lots O lines to be had, good place to learn to "float" at speed. I am heisting the photos from someone else on STR, Erwin, hope the photos show. According Perf these are of the Sport/Beg line

That's actually part of the Beginner/Sport line
