Re: Mammoth Bike Park Closing Weekend
Hey guys I had a sick time riding with everyone on Sunday! It's awesome to see that everyone was stoked on the changes that have been made this year too. There are plenty more changes coming for next year as well. Everyone I have met from the forum is rad and I was just happy to extend a little hospitality to the group. It's really cool of everyone to be pitching in for some gear as well! I really appreciate it. Val and I will be in bootleg for bootbash. We've never been there so i hope everyone can show me some lines. Lets have a mammoth weekend next year as well! Get as many people as we can up here and I'll figure out how to take care of passes. Thanks again guys!

+1 Up until the wind blew me off course!!!
Just on the Kicker on top, got blown around a bit on the little table tops and one really good shove coming around a berm.
Once we got into Twilight, Flow, Pipeline and Shotgun we were shielded pretty good from the gusts.

Re: Mammoth Bike Park Closing Weekend
After seeing these videos I can see how much work has been put into the park since my last visit in 2009. Impressive stuff, but I'm not 100% sure how I feel about those concrete pavers... Only way to be sure will be to wait until the snow has melted & get myself up there!

Plenty of traction, but you do not want to slide out. Heard stories of gnarly road rash.Mint Sauce wrote:After seeing these videos I can see how much work has been put into the park since my last visit in 2009. I like the armored berms, but like Jason said you wouldn't want to crash there.
They're also bowled out at the apex so if you time your pump correctly, you shoot out of the berm

Yeah, I think is was Val talking about someone who off'd on a pavered
section with out elbow protection and got ground down to the bone.
As more dirt starts to fill them they may get less harsh, right now they just look like gaint cheese graders.

I went down on them 2xs did not commit to getting up on them correctly not my ting as long as you have the gear on not too bad but still hurts as least the impact did!
