Never had a Intense so dont know what to look for or good price

Awesome FR/DH bike!  I've owned mine for 4 years now.  The only "issues" with the 2010 model is the rear triangle crankarm Q-Factor being a little restrictive; (width-wise), and possible hairline cracking just above the lowest axle on the lower linkage.  Intense changed the rear triangle design in the 2011 year model addressing and resolving the above issues.  The factory in Temecula is very supportive on ANY out-of-warranty issues that might occur.  That's a good price on that build.  Your friend won't regret owning it.  Other 951 owners I've encountered on my rides love the bike too!

Just like Mudd said the 2010 951's had an issue with the rear triangle cracking. That said it was only certain bikes not all 2010s, as my buddy had a 2010 whos rear triangle never had any issues and he weighs over 200. Worst case scenario it cracks and Intense fixes it, Intense is usually no questions asked when it comes to warranty repairs. They did a ton of work for free to my M9 when I had issues replacing all the linkages to the newest rendition.

Check the usual stuff, if it looks good grab it they are fantastic bikes.

EDIT: The listing says upgraded rear triangle, your buddy is golden.

The 951 was FRO (For Race Only), i.e. light weight and not the strongest frame out there. As a used frame you'll prolly not get any kind of warranty.

How heavy is your buddy, where and how does he ride?

From my experience with my m6fro (that I bought used) they upgraded and took care of every warranty issue on the spot no questions asked if I was original owner.but that was being local and showing up at their shop. Phone or email may differ?

Bummer he flaked out. I wouldn't worry about the FRO so much. I weigh about 250 geared up and my FRO 951 has been awesome. I'd recommend it.

My buddy Kaymonster and I bought this bike on Saturday, I'm taking the frame and he's taking all the parts to build up his new 951. It's his first DH rig so I'm stoked he'll be able to join us on GP rides in the future.
