Cane Creek Angleset

I know there has been some talk on the forum about the Cane Creek angleset and I just wanted to shed some light on the product. First of all, Cane Creek's sales reps are awesome guys and they were able to ship me out the tapered angleset quickly and for an awesome price. The angleset comes with 3 different cups +/- .5, +/- 1 and +/- 1.5 degree cups (I opted for the 1 degree headset for my giant glory). After reading the instructions installation was a breeze. Just line the notch up on the lower cup with the center of your headtube and use the flat surface of a headset press to press in 1 cup at a time. After that you basically grease the gimbals up and install your fork. Performance wise the angleset is awesome! I automatically felt the difference will riding at TW today and have no complaints so far. The angleset is solid with no creaking or wobbling, but it may have problems in the future. The negative aspect of this headset may be the fact that the gimbals sitting in the cups may need to be regreased and cleaned more than a normal headset because of their exposure to the elements.

I've ridden with an angleset for 7mos or so. You gotta clean out those gimbals and re-grease often. I didn't do that for several months and it developed a knocking/clicking sound everytime I turn my handlebars. Cleaning the cups and gimbals made that go away.

Awesome thanks for the info! Thats what I was expecting from the gimbals. How often do you clean and regrease?

I think I was up there at 1pm mostly just the lower portion and jumps. Then we headed off to PQ

Myself and a few others will be at PQ around 5ish.

Welp, the clicking happened around 3 weeks ago and and that's after maybe 6 mos of not touching it and riding 3-4x a week!

I guess cleaning/re-grease every 2 mos would be a safe estimate.
