Red Bull Straight Rhythm
I just got my tickets for me and my son. Anyone else going? It's Saturday at the Pamona Fairplex. Pastrana is racing on a 500 2-stroke. I think it's going to be awesome. I'm ready for some Supercross. Tickets are cheap too, $20. Not like that event out in the desert where you had to drive 8 hours, then hike, swim, and mud bog your way to a rock to stand on.

Re: Red Bull Straight Rhythm
Don't worry, it won't be 95. All the hysteria is unfounded. Looks more like 97.
Re: Red Bull Straight Rhythm

Re: Red Bull Straight Rhythm
I will be watching it on Red Bull TV in the A/C with a beer after a morning of riding my bike.
Re: Red Bull Straight Rhythm
In that case, i hope they have the same hosts as the Red Bull Rampage.
"Up next is Trevor Pastrana and James Stewart. Pastrami was a racer in the seventies, then moved on to a career fixing ferris wheels on the Nitrous Carnival. James Stewart starred in the movie It's a Wonderful Life."
"Let's talk about their bikes."
"Yes Tom, some are red, others are yellow, orange or blue, they have shocks on their front and rear forks, they're just like mountain bikes with engines."

Re: Red Bull Straight Rhythm
Here's my bleacher ride report:
It was hot, but I'm from Socal and I'm used to it. I didn't like looking into the sun the whole time though. It would have been better if it started 3 hours later. The racing was close, for the most part, but you could hardly see the first half of the track. (if only they would add some turns, and shorten the straightaways to have it all fit in sight of the viewer, then maybe add another 18 riders) But the trickiest rhythm where the different lines made the biggest difference was at the beginning, out of sight of the spectators. A few of the riders that were supposed to race did not. Probably due to contract reasons. Freaking Pastrana can still ride. He had the best heat of the day, coming from behind in the whoops, then backflipped the finish line jump for the win. Stewart seemed like he could give anyone a 50 foot lead only to bring it back to win. Even against his brother, who consistently had faster laps than him. Had Malcolm qualified differently, he would have easily been second.
Overall, I think it's more of a made-for-tv event. I can see there being a full series. It seems like the racers liked it. There were no crashes. ant the track options are endless. For me, I didn't get that excitement that you get when you hear 20 bikes revving up, and the overwhelming smell of race fuel and exhaust. And, there were no crashes!

Re: Red Bull Straight Rhythm
I agree completely but the really fast supercross and outdoor guys are not gonna risk injury for 10 grand. We left early because it was hot. We were looking into the sun and you couldnt see the whole beginning like you said. I fiund myself streaming it on my phone at the same time.
