Looks like you're having a great trip Rowdy! Just makes me want my bike to be done even faster.
Re: Trestle Bike Park, CO
Very cool Rowdystar! Funny how trestles surfing videos come up as suggestions after & you're from San Diego!

Re: Trestle Bike Park, CO
initial impressions:
-very nice bike shop. a downhilling dream shop. easy to spend cash there. picture bike bling but devoted only to dh.
-you self load your bike. this can be annoying and takes a minute to learn.
-even the green and blue trails are fun. i rode them the second day and still had fun.
-not as naturally difficult as keystone. but more just fun and flow. not as naturally challenging.
-great resort at the bottom and better food. only average trail map.
-not obvious signing sometimes when trails split or when linking. but it's a small mountain comparitively. just follow someone or ask.
-good pump track. and they are gonna dumb down the just redonkulous crankworx course and open it to the public!
-active trail crew. rode with a couple of them.
-only 75 minutes from denver.
-lots of newbs on the mnt. but also lots of women too. especially wednesdays.
-a "lighter" rating system compared to the other places i've been now.
-lots and lots of braking bumps into the berms.
-everything was basically roll-able. nothing was do or die make it.
-lots of wooden stuff on almost all the trails.
i signed up for a 300/400 level group class for 89$. i gamed the system, knowing no one else would sign up for this. 'cause a private lesson was 180 for 3 hours. so i paid 89 and got 4 hours of private lesson. the racer i worked with totally helped me in a major way.
i made a step up in my riding by just riding. then i made a step up by going to resorts. then getting professional help bumped me up again. much faster, more knowledge and more control.
i'll go back and reread my notes and write more later. or answer questions.
tomorrow is the new trailside bike park in park city and maybe deer valley. i wish sd would follow park city's lead on this bike park.....
