Re: Brian Head, Utah RR
so how did you get these pics? i'm gonna be riding solo so it will all have to be self done for me....
i have the tri pod adapter for my go pro and a small gorrila tri pod. figured i'd just set it up on video and ride by. then pull out a screen shot with windows movie maker. sadly when i do that the photos are not very good quality...
yours rock!

Re: Brian Head, Utah RR
Download the original version of windows media player and you can save pics with that, it does some other cool stuff too like frame by frame stepping. There is probably a better way but that's how I do it, pic quality should be as good as the original.

Re: Brian Head, Utah RR
Brian Head is open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. The lift costs $26 and is well worth it. We only saw 3 other DH bikers on the trails the entire day Saturday. The staff at the mountain are very friendly and are happy to have you there shredding....they even opened a closed wood feature when I told them that I would like to hit it.
Brian Head is a really chunky mountain. The trails are tight (sometimes only 2 tires width), loose and steep. The "dirt" is loose shale and volcanic rock. When shredding the trail...it is always moving beneath you, there are rocks on almost every inch of the trails. There are stumps , roots, and tons of loose rock on the trails....as well as snow, water, and mud crossings. They have a "freestyle feature" bike park. It includes ladder drops and jumps, elevated wood bridges and berms, a teeter-toter and a few other random features. Said park features are well built but were definitely not built by mountain bikers. The "freestyle" run, named Ken's woods, s not very long (only about 1/4 of the run) but it is all FUN.
All of these photos are still images from the gopro video. I find the frame of the video I like and I export the frame as a .jpg
another ladder jump shot

Re: Brian Head, Utah RR
well now i feel better about stopping in brian head this friday on my way to CO. thanks for the ride report.
i just use the 'snapshot' feature in moviemaker when i am editing and it is always crummy like 400x300 and not nearly as glossy looking and sharp as your stills....
