Doesn't look like much has changed since last year. Still choppy, loose and blown out. I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT! Nice video man, totally gets me pumped to be out there soon.

Thanks guys! I didn't run into anyone from this site but I wasn't looking very hard. In retrospect, after looking at CAPn's thread they parked right in front of me on Sunday in their Tundra.

And yeah, Northstar is more blown out and terrible than it has been in a long time. The mtn is putting zero work into the trails and it's starting to show unfortunately. Livewire isn't even entirely open yet.

Truth to this. Forest the mgr of trail work has a stick up his ass. Me and few others had to clear fallen logs and boulders in order to get Boondocks running 2 weeks ago. And when they found us poaching after 3 1/2 hours of work they threaten to take out tickets away... Mad

My friend Wayne got into it with him and we all have been giving him crap about the lake luster effort in opening trails up there.

The funny thing is that Boondocks was 90 percent melted out two weeks before they ran Zephyr. They really cannot take the initiative to spend a half hour shoveling snow to open a trail. Not to mention in the three weeks where the upper mtn was closed and the lower parts of the upper trails were clear they did zero trail work. Even the day before the Boondocks race the trail crew was smoking a bowl off to the side of Boondocks instead of raking like they were supposed to. Blows my mind.

Perhaps the lackluster trailwork might have something to do with the resort's new ownership, Vail Resorts.

We might have another resort owner who doesn't give a shit about mountain biking. But then again Vail also owns Keystone which is pretty baddass from what I hear.

I would say the best thing to do is to write a constructive letter on there blog. If enough people did that I would think Northstar would get the idea. But it is Northstar and they do everything backwards there, so they might take criticism as a complement. scratch

I was talking to a local at N* and was told that Vail the new owners have not yet taken over the complete operations of N* and the past owners are not going to invest into what they just sold! I believe he said this coming winter is when the complete ownership transfer will happen and Vail will be in charge of all winter/summer operations.

One of the lifties mentioned to me that Vail wants to run Comstock and Arrow for bikers. I doubt it will ever happen but it's a cool thought.
