Snow Summit reaching out
First, a little history for those who don't know. The past 14 years there has been a LOT of tension between the DH world and Snow Summit. Internet forums everywhere have been full of angry comments. Obviously this was due to Summits banning of DH riders from the mountain by banning their bikes. The rift is still deep. But I knew that there were some forward thinkers in management. So I reached out in an attempt to mend fences a little...and promote something positive between DH riders and Summit. Lift operations manager Pat and I put together a "GP day" for opening day of 2012. Discounted...

1st Annual Boneyard Bash RR
It's been a long 3 years this month that I started hunting for a place where we could create a bike park. This event marked the point where our first trail was solid enough to ride. And hell...if you can ride it, you can race it! Since October we have had a green light to build. Chuk2rs, Colin, Carlos, and James hame been staples building GP Park ever since. And many others have come up repeatedly. I've listed those on site for Boneyard Bash below...please help me out if not on the list so I can add!

Saturday morning saw the first time machinery has shown it's face at Waterman....

Like internet shopping?
GOOD! I have the investors of Waterman on the fence considering BUYING us a mini excavator for the project. But we need to find one at a deal. Can't be some pretty $50k new machine. Looking for auction, used, or whatever. Under $15k. Who has the magic fingers???

In the mean time...anyone have an in on a rental for less than normal pricing? We could really use one up there for the next few weeks.

Sat the 15th is "the day." But some of us like to stay the night and have some fun Sunday morning too. Feel free to join in any of the above. Grill and main building is free for you to use. Bring up some grub and a blow up bed. We'll crank up the big fireplace at night and tell campfire stories.

How do you give local kids the chance to get into dirt riding? One of the easiest ways is to provide a pump track right in their neighborhood. I want to see pump tracks pop into city parks all over SoCal. We just need to get one successfully built. Then we can promote it as a success to other cities, and propose pump tracks in their parks.

The first such pump track in this mission is being tried in Valley Center. I started work on this project with Minette in the Fall. Our own Sinner is a VC local, and has signed on to be "the man" on the ground. He's already done GPS work....

Introduction
Hello GP members,

My name is John, and I'm from Fullerton, CA. Back in November of 2012, I had purchased a used '05 Kona Stinky which I had converted into an E-bike throughout last year. During this time, I had built/ridden a variety of other bikes, but nothing feels as great as a big travel bike.

Are you having trouble getting your suspension to work for you and not against you? Wanna fly through rock gardens and learn to rail corners? Gravity Pirates Racing is holding a suspension tuning/body positioning clinic for downhill riders at the Ted Williams trails in Poway. GPR team riders and the gurus from GarageWorks Suspension will be giving classes on suspension setup and body positioning to help you become a faster rider. We will cover; cornering, rock gardens, and jumping. The riders will be split into three groups based on skill level and will receive class instruction along with time...

DIG GOES ON! Jan 11
Keeping at it! Pushing to get Boneyard complete! Come on up this Saturday and dive in. Fresh tools and wood are showing up Fri. Shuttles for diggers will be available all day...so no walking back up. We'll have a box of dogs/brats or whatever. Throw one on the grill when you're hungry. Bring a friend! Camping out is cool too if you like! Main buildingbis available so u font need a tent..just bag n pillow. Dig/ride anytine over Fri, Sat, and Sun. Must be a pirate, or with a pirate to ride.

1st GP Park dig day of 2014..SAT JAN 4th!
Let's get this party started! The sooner we get this place built, the sooner we can ride it! Come on up and throw some dirt around SAT JAN 4th. Boneyard is the trail. Show up, grab a tool, and head down the trail til you find diggers. Guys will be digging by 9am. Stop whenever you're too tired. Don't kill yourself! It's supposed to be enjoyable! It's way too hard to walk all the way back up for lunch. So just BYO sandwiches/drinks in your camelbak down the trail. Eat/drink whenever you want.

Want to ride down the trail? Feel free! But at least wait til at least...
