Schwalbe Hanz Dampf Initial Review
So Ive been running the Hans Dampf tires on my All mountain steed for a couple months now and thought I'd write a short review on them
I got the 2.35 trailstar versions, it's triple compound, faster rolling center knobs and grippier side lugs. These tires are big! Coompared to maxxis these are 2.5 in width.
I mounted them up ghetto tubeless to my WTB speed disc XL rims without any problems.
Mud performance: Decent grip, semi wide lug spacing clears well if you keep moving.
Rocky terrain: break loose easy on rocks due too larger tread spacing. Higher volume helps prevent pich flats, but i did manage to puncture them at bootleg.
Loose granite over hardpack: where I live there is alot of crushed granite, and the dampfs do not grip on this very well. they tended to slide on top of it instead of gripping.
Soft loam, topsoil, damp terrain: Exellent traction, the middle lugs really dig into the soil for climbing, and the side knobs really hold a line well.
Overall wear is decent for how much i ride. about 80% ft, 50% rr tread left with around 100 miles on them. the side lugs are starting to tear off as i expected the softer trailstar compound to do with all the rocky terrain we have here in Arizona.
clearance is a little tight. About 10 cm
These are some beefy looking tires.
Current status of front after 2 1/2 months riding
Rear Tire missing some good size chunks (Sorry I like to rip up berms )
Overall I was very impressed with these tires. They blow all the other "all terrain" tires i've tried out of the water. Loads more grip, lighter and bigger.

I'll add your review to the tire review thread. Good job....thorough.
Re: Schwalbe Hanz Dampf Initial Review
thanks! BTW I heard Danny Hart and a few other Schwalbe factory riders were running a dh casing version of it at the first world cup this year.

Hanz dampf is gay I prefer his sister hanzsel on my dampfenjunk her lugs are big and she has a great bite, not too loose and never ripper her yet but then that's cause I run a skinny rim.
