Vail Lake Bike Park Report
Made a quick decision to dart up to Tmec and pick up my new shock, but having a blown one has never stopped me before so met Sinner at Vail lake.
Pushed up and did a dh run, then spent a couple hours at the jump line.
Place is pretty cool and we got rare hero dirt, I'll definately be going back.
Cameron gave me his sd card to edit the footage with mine, if you want to see him rip the place up proper you'll have to sit through my footage first....or skip to 3:55.

Yeah it's pretty cool...I think the dh run would make a fun race course, it's definately not pedally. There is certainly options for a super D there too.

Re: Vail Lake Bike Park Report
the route you rode was a dh race. the mongoose hillbilly bike bash. lots of youtube videos of it.
and racers and chasers used to race super d there. that's where i got my start.
if they just let us shuttle up the fire road it would be absolutely perfrect with just a tiny bit of regular grooming on the other runs.

Ya...I kinda figured it was an existing course when I saw the finish line, I was hinting that we should have a private race there.
As far as shuttling, Cam said it's only a 400' push, didn't take us long at all.

Re: Vail Lake Bike Park Report
cameron who's last name begins with S? lives in t-mec? if so, we've ridden and raced together. i'd love to ride with him again.....
vail lake is for profit. there is a reason no one really races there anymore. they want 25% of gross.
i've easily ridden there 20 times. i'm actually taking my slopestyle bike there next week to practice using flats on their jump line..
once again bmex, you're out there! cant wait to ride again with ya.

That place looks fun. I will be camping there next weekend...I should bring my bike. Is this located in the hills right next the RV park?
Re: Vail Lake Bike Park Report
yep, just go out back from where the gokart track used to be, or head up the fireroad past the rc car track till you get as high as you want. at least 4 good options down from there.

I forget Cam's last name but that sounds like him, he's registered here as 'Sinner'. Let me know when you head up I'll try and make it.

Re: Vail Lake Bike Park Report
Jason who has been doing alot of the work out there has supposedly convinced the owners to build a pumptrack, dual slalom, skills park and new DH lines.
On top of that they are suppose to shuttle on weekends once its all done.
