Re: SoftRide ShuttlePad
Nice pad I just bought the dakine,... Im not going to take the time to independently strap down the bikes... Ill run a strap accross the top from right to left by the tailgate to strap em down if its rough...
Nice pad though....

Re: SoftRide ShuttlePad
Travis, trust me, we've tried every method out there to strap down the bikes. It never works as well as individually strapping them down.

Re: SoftRide ShuttlePad
this strapping works for long drives... does not move guaranteed! I'm used to strapping big lumbers! IMHO

Re: SoftRide ShuttlePad
Middle ones will bounce on rough shuttle roads, guaranteed. My bikes don't move with no straps on roads, but once you get to a 4wd shuttle road like in idyllwild, any weakness will come out.

Re: SoftRide ShuttlePad
Just ordered the Shuttlepad. I am sick of tying down bikes when we go out. This looks so much easier to use. Thanks for the great review.
Re: SoftRide ShuttlePad
I've never had a problem with my Dakine & if I'm worried about bike movement I'll just throw a strap across the cargo hooks to snug the bikes down.

X2
I know the bikes can move a little depending on the truck and bike but I've had no problems so far with my 05 Frontier. Typically deeper bed trucks work the best. There's also little tricks on how to "stack" the bike so that they don't move even in the twisties.

Re: SoftRide ShuttlePad
I don't know man, the shuttle roads in idyllwild are pretty rough depending on the ruts. Its not twisties I'm worried about, its downtubes banging on the tailgate.
