Sunny Southern Cali DH run....
... ain't no fun if the hommie pirates can't get some!!
First of all, thanks for allowing me access to the site as I was invited here by a good friend of mine (endo). After skimming through some of the threads, it appears there are a boat load of trails to be had around so cal. The one I'm mostly interested in shreddin' is the one posted below.
I know Southridge 2011 is taking place this weekend, but I'm writing to request a personal tour guide of this spot early am "don patrol" style this Sat. or Sun??
Thanks in advance and feel free to holla (858) three 54-6978.

eddie, unfortunately, I haven't reached the requirements to send PM's... so, if you don't mind, my contact number (droid x) is listed above on my original post. Looking forward to speaking to you!
Thanks mayne,

Ah yes....the site of GP2. Love me some Skidmarx. Plenty of info on it in the trail index thread...over in the trails section. Read up closely on where to enter AND where to exit. Have fun!
Re: Sunny Southern Cali DH run....
Skidmarx local. I ride weekdays, mainly but I need help on another trail due north of skids.

Sweet trail! Looks dialed-in for sure.
Hopefully, the rains didn't mess it up too much...

Re: Sunny Southern Cali DH run....
It's a great trail, the reason there isn't really a map posted is because it cuts on and off a fireroad, and is easier following a guide the first time.
Also the very top and bottom are sensitive areas.
Fun as hell though for sure, post up I'm sure someone will take you down it.
Wish I could go tuesday Mike but my bike is broken right now.

Cool of you eddie for being tour guide.
That trail is fun as hell but the dirt sux. If you ride it often, be sure to hit up Lenny to get in on maintenance day.

The Dirt sucks where??
At the top the silt is a little deep, but when your riding a 50lb bike the dirt will feel different I suppose??

Re: Sunny Southern Cali DH run....
I meant it sucks for building and maintaining Mike, it's a little sandy for stacking berms. :drunken:
It needs constant attention I'm sure.

Re: Sunny Southern Cali DH run....
It's a trail that does require care, I still have not met some of the maintainers. It's a steep trail maybe that is why it's hard to keep up.
In your opinion would chicken wire help to maintain the berms??

Re: Sunny Southern Cali DH run....
I think the chicken wire at nascar is just in places where braking bumps start, I haven't actually seen any in the berms but there may be...
I think some of the berms there would have to be shored up from the back with rocks, especially in that spot near the step up.
I'd imagine bringing in some clay like soil and mixing it could help? I've wondered before if there wasn't some type of (organic) 'sticky' solution you could mix up and drench the berms with.
I haven't met the builders but wish I lived closer, it's a trail definately worth putting work into.

Re: Sunny Southern Cali DH run....
This trail definitely deserves to be manicured routinely!
I'll keep an eye out on the scheduled trail work day...
