Summit changes
What say you? Summit has been busy making edits almost every week. Better or worse? And what needs to be changed still?
Summit changes :: Comments
price needs to stop getting higher, opening and closing time needs to be extended instead of 9-4 or what ever it is now, it needs to be from dusk till dawn especially at there price there asking, they need better lifts, they also need better signs and signs to suggest what skill level you should ride and signs posted NOT to stop on the line. They need a true beginner line along with a kids zone. At this rate they should have had most if not all of this already.
a night ride would be fun but opening at dawn would be better I did see a "do not stop here" sign on the back of the rock garden wall feature.FOUL HABITS wrote:price needs to stop getting higher, opening and closing time needs to be extended instead of 9-4 or what ever it is now, it needs to be from dusk till dawn especially at there price there asking, they need better lifts, they also need better signs and signs to suggest what skill level you should ride and signs posted NOT to stop on the line. Someone needs to light a fire under the forest services asses so they can open new trails. The same two and a half trails are still really fun and we are loving all the new features and updates but need more trails.also i agree that they need to open a little earlier and stay open a little later at least on the weekends ie fri sat and sun. Also loving the new staff and the old ones who stayed, way more friendly.oh and the bike trays make the lines go a little faster.
My biggest gripe:
Uninformed guests. It should be required at all parks to inform customers of the rules of the road. Trail etiquette is essential to everyone getting along, and safety. A couple TV's above the ticket booth looping a straight forward 1min essential etiquette video, would be awesome! Especially here at Summit because there hasn't been a park down here. So we seem to have a LOT LOT of people who have no clue. Again...this is something for all parks to do though. Summit can set a great example.
Biggest WIN:
The edits. Summit is getting much better and more frequent with it's edits. Smarter changes for sure. That makes it fun to see new stuff every time we go up. Most of it is improvements to sections that just didn't work right. They also try hard to get water on trial for maintenance. I know the struggle though. This is a LOT of customers with only a couple trails. So all things considered, great effort.

I like jumping just as much as the next guy but that's all Summit is. It needs diversity. In a perfect world the old trails would still exist so i can get my steep dusty loose dh fix. Also, $36 with the GC when Mammoth is $26? Mammoth is a real park it should be reversed.

Correction....Mammoth is $49.
You know that trail by that rock near that tree?? hahaha....explaining where changes are is an endless pit. It only ends when the listener pretends to know where you're talking about. At least 6 changes I saw since being there 2 weeks prior. Good stuff.zman wrote:I haven't been up in a few weeks
what changes have they made ?

Ha ha no but it can be like a few new jumps after the over under or that new wall ride right after the old wall ride
whats it like during the week? is it just as good or abbreviated and operating less lifts and trails?

Mammoth might be $49 for the regular price but with the GC they only charged me $26. You should know that!

I've only ever gone on fridays. Longest I've ever waited in line is like 10ish minutes. The few trails they have did not seem crowded. Haven't been this year yet.
Troll....I got it mentioned 3 times. Cause I'm proud.mooseindahouse wrote:Cap'n wrote:mooseindahouse wrote:I like jumping just as much as the next guy but that's all Summit is. It needs diversity. Went today for my 6th trip and the new "green line " beginner trail is now open. It starts off West ridge before the first step down into the table top on the left side. NO, I do no know where it comes out since I did not venture into that unknown. Probalby would have crshed hard on a 2 foot roller and ended my season early like last year. Alas, I'll continue to hit the party wave, Cruizer and MM and soil sampe in "epic" style.
Just info passing for those with lil inspiring types ....

I dont think the full green trail is open yet. They have started to build go arounds for the big jump sections though, they usually remerge with the trail after the main features. They did build a mini skills area towards the bottom I've heard though. All the new trails are still locked up with the Forest Dept
I also think he's talking about the goarounds. But, the sign at the top says a new green trail is open. I never saw it, although I never looked.
So i havent been to summit in a little over a month until this morning. Its lookin like a supercross track now in alot of the sections. The jumps seem to be getting bigger. Not complaining. i love it.
