RWC Needle Bearing shock Eyelets

Post by stinkyrider on Thu Aug 18, 2011 1:40 pm

This is kind of an old topic that's been discussed a lot in the past on MTBR and the likes. I know Bullcrew has written a lot on this product in the past, but I'm bored and I thought I would resurrect it from the dead.

I've been running the Real World Cycling needle bearing shock eyelet kit on my Banshee Legend for 10 months now. All I can say is that it's well worth the upgrade over the standard DU bushings. My rear shock feels much more supple and smoother over the chatter. It considerably changes the feel of the shock. For $60, it's well worth the upgrade.

I need some for both my Spitfire and my Legend.

Stinky-Do you have them on both shock eyelets or just the lower one?

I'd like to upgrade to this along with a Ti coil if I can find the right fit...

Are there any local shops in OC or LA that have and install them?

Get yourself a digital caliper, measure your bushings & you might find something that will fit.

whoa. Totally forgot about this thread.
Yeah, I run them on both eyelets on my Legend. Seemed to make the bike much more supple in the chatter and smaller stuff. However, you do lose some pedaling efficiency unless you turn the slow speed comp up a bit on your shock.

I don't know of any local shops that have them but any shop can install them. They are installed the same way a regular DU bushing is. You could probably even do it yourself if you have a vice and a socket set. Just be REALLY careful, otherwise you risk permanently damaging your shock eyelets.
